Common symptoms in the three types of amyloidosis
In this video, three patients that were cared for by the Mondor Amyloidosis Network and the National Referral Centre for Cardiac Amyloidosis explain the course of their care. Breathlessness, fatigue, weight gain and water retention (edemas in the legs) are often the first signs of cardiac amyloidosis. These symptoms are very common and are found in lots of cardiac pathologies as much as they are in cardiac amyloidosis. These three patients describe their symptoms and type of amyloidosis and how their care varied greatly in relation to their type of amyloidosis: AL, hereditary transthyretin and ‘wild type’ transthyretin.
