Depending on the patient\u2019s health and type of amyloidosis, they will be directly admitted to either cardiology, neurology, haematology or nephrology. There are several procedures in place for this: short consultation, extensive consultation (Cardiac Amyloidosis SOS), day admission, conventional hospitalisation, etc. The referral centre assigns a care coordinator to each patient. This SOS consultation allows us to admit patients quickly if they are suspected of having cardiac amyloidosis and to carry out the first examination (blood tests, salivary gland biopsies). This means we can establish what is causing the amyloidosis and prepare for examinations which might be necessary for the next period of hospitalisation, to make this process as convenient and short as possible.
